January 13, 2017: Volunteered at Stroll and Roll with members of Moms Demand Action in support of Beyond. Beyond is a non-profit initiated by Gabe Zimmerman's family to use health-related activities to reconnect us as a community. Many organizations throughout Tucson participate in Beyond each year.
June 2, 2017: Wear Orange Event at Himmel Park for National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Empty chairs remembered the 91 people killed by guns each day of 2017 in the USA. Survivors remembered their lost loved ones. Policy makers talked about working to reduce gun violence. People attended because they care about preventing gun violence.
October 17, 2017: Spoke about gun violence prevention at an Arizona Ground Game forum which focused on various issues important to voters, such a gun violence, education, and immigration.
October 27, 2017: Collected requested items for "Stuff the Truck", an initiative of Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse. Stuff the Truck provides everyday items for people in Emerge programs. Arizona has an elevated rate of domestic gun violence--45% above the national average. 76% of Arizona domestic violence related deaths in 2016 resulted from the use of a firearm.
November 2017: Invited to speak about the work of GVPA at Saddlebrook Ranch. Gave a presentation on Arizona's gun laws to the Secular Humanist Jewish Circle.
